The kaiseki dining experience, a one-of-a-kind exquisite culinary adventure that is rooted in ancient Japanese tradition.
Kaiseki is an Asian culinary art form that dates back to the 1700's when elaborate and beautiful tea ceremonies were performed to entertain and welcome guests. During these ceremonies, a series of beautifully presented small meals featuring the freshest ingredients were served. These dishes were called kaiseki, since the small meals are similar in purpose to the warm stones (seki) which Buddhist priests put in their kimono pockets (kai) while studying and meditating to forget their empty stomachs during fasting.
All of the ingredients are hand-selected by the chef to ensure quality and freshness.
Seasonal ingredients and fresh seafood are the cornerstones of the kaiseki dinner. Presentation and visual appeal are foundations of kaiseki, and guests are ensured private treatment and VIP hospitality. |
